Location: Butte, MT

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Vertical Construction Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will manage commercial and institutional vertical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This position requires a high level of collaboration with project stakeholders including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related field is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience managing vertical construction projects (e.g., office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, multi-family, etc.).
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of building systems, construction processes, and project lifecycle management.
  4. Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
  5. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  7. Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.
  8. OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  9. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites throughout Montana.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of vertical construction projects.
  2. Manage project team including field staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
  3. Monitor project financials including budgets, cost control, and forecasts.
  4. Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, design teams, and internal leadership.
  5. Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Manage estimating and pre-construction activities.
  7. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and work plans.
  8. Issue and manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  9. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  10. Prepare and lead progress meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  11. Track RFIs, submittals, and approvals to prevent delays.
  12. Ensure timely and accurate documentation throughout the project.
  13. Manage project closeout including punch lists, warranties, and owner training.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to continuous improvement of company systems and processes.
  2. Provide mentorship and leadership to junior project managers and interns.
  3. Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  1. Primarily office-based with regular travel to active job sites across Montana.
  2. Work will involve exposure to construction environments, including varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and uneven terrain.
  3. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and navigate construction sites as necessary.
  4. Work hours may vary depending on project needs and deadlines, including occasional evenings and weekends.
